Dan Paulson is a native of New York City and graduated with Honors, receiving a B.A. from Boston University, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. Over his decades-long career in the entertainment industry, he has produced numerous television commercials, reality shows and industrial films, including multiple nominated and award-winning productions.Dan began his career at NBC as an executive in the Business Affairs. Leaving NBC to freelance, he joined 20th Century Fox as a story editor, and was later promoted to the position of Production Executive. Dan eventually left Fox and formed his own production company, Daniel L. Paulson Productions (DLPP). There, Dan developed, packaged and produced a number of theatrical films, television movies and several series pilots, including Comes a Horseman (United Artists) and Thaddeus, Rose and Eddie (CBS). In addition, Dan executive produced and received The Christopher Award for the NBC television movie Victims for Victims.Dan joined Dick Clark Productions as VP of Movies and Series, where he supervised the development and production of all movies and series. He served as executive producer for such films as Reaching for the Stars (NBC) and Copacabana (CBS), which was nominated for two Emmys. He produced Promised a Miracle (CBS), Town Bully (ABC), and Remo Williams, a dramatic pilot for ABC. Once he left Dick Clark Productions, Dan produced a number of theatrical films including Backtrack, and Passenger 57, which was a top grossing theatrical film for Warner Bros, and Sunset Park, released by TriStar Pictures.Under DLPP's overall agreement with Showtime Entertainment, Dan produced Mr. and Mrs, Loving, Inside, North Shore Fish, Mr Loving, A Cooler Climate, and Bonnano: A Godfather's Story (a five hour mini-series). In addition, Dan produced Gift of Love: The Daniel Huffman Story starring Debbie Reynolds, for which Dan was nominated for an Emmy as the producer of an Outstanding Children's Special.Dan produced Best Friends for Life (CBS), and Panic in the Skies (The Family Channel), Custody of the Heart (Lifetime); By Dawn's Early Light (Showtime). Dan received the Director's Award as executive producer for Special Achievement in an Original Film Presentation from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. He also produced the miniseries Haven for CBS, for which Dan received the Humanitas Prize as Executive Producer. He also executive produced Jack (Showtime), Full-Court Miracle for the Disney Channel, which was a Humanitas Prize finalist, and Saving Jessica Lynch for NBC.Dan produced Pictures of Hollis Woods starring Sissy Spacek and Alfre Woodard for Hallmark Hall of Fame/CBS. The film won a Christopher Award, a Television Academy Honors Award, a Camie Award and was a Humanitas Award finalist. Dan produced A Smile as Big as the Moon, starring John Corbett for ABC/Hallmark Hall of Fame, which won a Television Academy Honors Award and a Faith & Freedom Movieguide Award.Dan's latest production is a Chesapeake Shores one-hour drama series for the Hallmark Channel, starring Diane Ladd, Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, and Treat Williams.
