Karri is a trained comedic and improvisational actress. She enjoyed working in various sitcoms and then decided to focus on creating and directing her own projects.She directed and co-wrote her first feature, Bandwagon, which won the Maverick Filmmaking Award at The Newport Beach Film Festival in 2004.
