Keir Thirus is the youngest of three boys, raised in the south suburbs of Chicago by Howard and Vera Thirus. He attended Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BFA in Art. Keir Thirus is the youngest of three boys, raised in the south suburbs of Chicago by Howard and Vera Thirus. He attended Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BFA in Art. He was also honored to make the CCIW All-Conference Team at Defensive Tackle playing football his senior year at IWU.Keir started his acting career in Chicago's historic Black theatre community, working for the esteemed eta Creative Arts Foundation, and for the celebrated Congo Square Theatre Company, among others. He took lead roles in a wide range of productions, including his role as 'Syl' in "Checkmates" (eta), as 'Lincoln' in "Top Dog/Under Dog" (performing for CPS students for Congo Square and The American Theatre Company), and as 'Bobby' in the world premiere of "The Saint James Infirmary" (Congo Square). Keir's on-stage performances in Chicago garnered him various acting awards and nominations, including winning the Most Promising Actor Award for his role as 'Rabbit' in "Stoops" (eta) and a Best Leading Actor Nomination for "Checkmates" from the Black Theater Alliance Awards, and taking part in winning the Best Ensemble Award for "Stoops" from The African American Arts Alliance's Black Excellence Awards. Keir made his feature film debut as Heisman Trophy nominee, 'Bob Ferguson', in Universal Pictures "The Express: The Ernie Davis Story".Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2009, his co-star TV credits have included the role of 'Meyers' in Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" on FOX, as 'Officer Hollister' on ABC's legendary daytime soap, "General Hospital", and as 'Vinci PD' on HBO's hit drama, "True Detective". Keir can be seen as 'Tyler' in the award winning romantic comedy short, "Cocoa Love", that premiered on BET and runs on the Aspire Channel, and in 2014 he had the pleasure of finishing a very successful run as 'Jimmy Lunceford' in the Ovation Awards Recommended production of "Knock Me A Kiss" for The Robey Theatre Company, for which he received a Best Lead Male Nomination from the 2015 NAACP Theatre Awards. Keir can also be seen as 'Brent' in the second season of the critically acclaimed web series, "Black Boots", and as 'Eddie' in all three seasons of the award winning web series sitcom he co-produced, "The Marriage Tour", for which he won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Dramedy from the 2014 LA Webfest.
