Some elements of this environment are in a sense objective: he must travel and communicate over certain distances, he must avoid certain controls, he must counter the opposition. Other elements, however, are psychological -- the extent and intensity of friendliness or hostility with which his and the opposition's course are viewed by actual or potential agents, or by any persons in a position to help or hinder their activities; the apparent superiority of one side or the other in the eyes of those in between; morale and loyalty in the opposition's ranks; and so forth. These psychological elements in the operational climate can be of decisive importance. The operations of Hitler's Gestapo against the outlawed German Communist Party were greatly assisted by the effectiveness of Nazi propaganda in mobilizing the active support of large parts of the population for this work. When the same Gestapo was later sent into France and other Nazi-occupied countries to cope with the Communist underground there, it was far less successful. It must have been largely the change in operational climate, not any deterioration in the professional skill of Hitler's security and intelligence services, which led from the effective liquidation of the German Communist underground to the Nazis' failure to suppress the Communists in the countries their armies had effectively occupied. Background research as student with Center for Study of Intelligence;Komityet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosty (KGB) Since the 1920s, an important internal security function of the security police has been ensuring the political reliability of the armed forces. This function was carried out through a network of so-called special departments (osobye otdely), which were under the supervision of the KGB's Third Chief Directorate. Officially designated as a military counterintelligence organization, the Third Chief Directorate performed tasks that extended far beyond counterintelligence to encompass extensive political surveillance of the military and other military security duties.Operation Trust was a counterintelligence operation from 1921-1926.Ob'edinennoe Gosudarstvennoe Politicheskoe Upravlenie (OGPU), It also became the Soviet government's arm for the persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Greek Catholics, the Latin Catholics, Islam and other religious organizations (with the exception of Judaism), an operation headed by Yevgeny Tuchkov, in Russian (1892 - 1957) was the head of the anti-religious arm of the Soviet OGPU.Sobolyeva, Tatyana Cryptologia 25, no. 1 (Jan. 2001): 61-63, Abstract Special Operations Groups of crypt-analysts and com-int (SIGINT) intercept operators provided assistance to the host governments fighting German, Italian, and Japanese military forces in those countries. Famous occultist publications by Franz Hartman Lotus Blossoms , and Germannodrden Allgemeine Ordens-Nachrichten both used the symbol of the swastika in the early 1900's. Even though the swastika became an infamous symbol of the later Nazi political party, or German Socialist Party, the symbol was not representative of Franz Hartman's political or theological philosophy. Thus the commonality of symbolic language in semoitic understanding needs a detailed examination based on truth as accepted by the beleivers of the occult using the symbol.Children of the swastika : the Hitler Youth / by Eileen Heyes (Book Reference)Anti-Defamation League: A Visual Database of Extremist Symbols, Logos and Tattoos http://www.adl.org/hate_symbols/default.aspSwastika / Nazi Party Flag http://www.adl.org/hate_symbols/neo_nazi_swastika_flag.aspTranslation of Claude Mignault's, A Teatise on Symbols http://www.emblems.arts.gla.ac.uk/Mignault_syntagma.htmlPragmatics: Referential uses of language http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pragmatics#Referential_uses_of_language Show less «
